Proposal for a neighbourhood plan for Puttenham

The Council designated the Puttenham Neighbourhood Area on 3 December 2014. The Puttenham Neighbourhood Area covers Puttenham Parish.

Puttenham Parish Council has worked with the Puttenham community and other stakeholders to produce the Puttenham Neighbourhood Plan, which was submitted to the Council on 19 February 2020.

A neighbourhood plan is a document that contains planning policies for a single neighbourhood area. Neighbourhood plans become part of the Development Plan for the borough and are used to determine planning applications that fall within the neighbourhood area they cover, along with the Council's Local Plan and other considerations.

Consultation

The consultation will run from 12 noon on 9 March to 12 noon on 27 April 2020.

The neighbourhood plan and other submission documents can be found below under 'Consultation documents'. Printed copies of the documents will be available to view at the Council office main reception at Millmead, and at Guildford Library during the consultation period. Please respond to this consultation through the online comments form below. Alternatively, you can email or write to us using the details at the bottom of this page.

After the consultation we will publish your comment and may publish your name, but will not publish personal details such as email and postal addresses. We will not accept anonymous comments.

Your comments will be provided to an independent examiner who will make recommendations about whether the plan should proceed to a referendum of residents, whether it should be modified before the referendum, or whether it should be refused. If the plan proceeds to referendum and a majority of those voting vote in favour, the plan will become part of the development plan for the Neighbourhood Area.

The examiner will consider whether the neighbourhood plan meets the Basic Conditions and other relevant legal requirements, and whether the referendum area should be extended beyond the neighbourhood area. Your comments should focus on these points.

Your representation may include a request to be notified of the Council's decision on whether to adopt or refuse the proposed neighbourhood plan.
