Proposal for a neighbourhood plan for West Clandon

The Council designated the West Clandon  Neighbourhood Area on 18 March 2019. The West Clandon Neighbourhood Area covers West Clandon Parish.

A neighbourhood plan is a document that contains planning policies for a single neighbourhood area. Neighbourhood plans become part of the Development Plan for the borough and are used to determine planning applications that fall within the neighbourhood area they cover, along with the Council's Local Plan and other considerations.

Consultation

The consultation on the West Clandon Neighbourhood Plan will run from 12 noon on 12 May to 12 noon on 12 July 2021.

Please respond to this consultation through the online comments form below (available when the consultation is open). Alternatively, you can email or write to us using the details at the bottom of this page.

After the consultation we will publish your comment and may publish your name, but will not publish personal details such as email and postal addresses. We will not accept anonymous comments.

Your comments will be provided to an independent examiner who will make recommendations about whether the plan should proceed to a referendum of residents, whether it should be modified before the referendum, or whether it should be refused. If the plan proceeds to referendum and a majority of those voting vote in favour, the plan will become part of the development plan for the Neighbourhood Area.

The examiner will consider whether the neighbourhood plan meets the Basic Conditions and other relevant legal requirements, and whether the referendum area should be extended beyond the neighbourhood area. Your comments should focus on these points.

Your representation may include a request to be notified of the Council's decision on whether to adopt or refuse the proposed neighbourhood plan.
